The Gourd TCM Founder Story
Growing up disliking TCM because of the bitter medications, I never imagined I’d pursue it. But when an injury that specialists deemed 'treatable but not curable' was healed in a mere session of acupuncture, it completely changed my perspective on TCM.Fast forward to today, after graduating from the Singapore College of TCM and practicing for 9 years, I knew there was a better way to help patients heal faster. Traditional treatment and pricing models often limit full recovery, with patients settling for less due to cost. I wanted more—100% recovery, just like the experience that I once had.Gourd TCM was born from this passion, offering a personalized, holistic approach without the constraints of the typical pricing system.
Why Gourd?
But why the name, you ask? It’s more than just a clever play on words with "Gourd" and "Got" (though I did find it quite satisfying after working backwards).The gourd carries a rich history in traditional Chinese medicine. In ancient China, physicians would hang a gourd outside their clinics as a symbol of healing. These gourds, often used to store medicine, represented health and well-being due to their affordability and practicality.Additionally, the idiom 悬壶济世 (xuán hú jì shì), meaning “hanging a gourd to save the world,” perfectly encapsulates the philosophy behind Gourd TCM—dedicated to healing and helping others.

Our expertise lies in treating pain, except when caused by autoimmune conditions, where relief is the goal. For other conditions, full recovery can typically be expected within very few sessions, whether the pain is chronic or acute.
